“A wonderful presentation … the students were very engaged and it was an excellent example of how theatre can stimulate awareness and debate”
Ruth Way, Head of Theatre and Performance, University of Plymouth
For Practitioners & Students of education, ecology & the performing arts oranyone interested in using (puppet) theatre to relay information, a point of view or stimulate debate.
Using a combination of live puppetry & Power Point images, we present the different forms of puppet Theatre-In-Education Jacolly has employed over the years, illustrating ways puppets (and the odd human) can convey concepts and bring teaching to life.
Past & present shows drawn on can include addressing bullying issues, minibeasts, saving energy and road safety. And, as the theme of several of our shows is the environment, these performance / lectures lend themselves well to conferences on Education for Sustainable Development.
Presentations can be followed by workshops, giving the chance for the audience to become performers themselves and experiment with making shows of their own with Rod & Hand or Shadow Puppet Theatre.
